More Snow Please!

Winter is not over, so don’t hang your gear up yet! Although it seems many people lately are ready for seasons of change. However we figured we would offer a sacrifice for even MORE snow and doing so, publicly release our film from last season. One of the worst winters ever, remember? No snow, lots of rain, lack of base in the backcountry, and unpredictable weather around the region. Looking back now, it is oddly similar to this season in a familiar sort of way. That said, many of our best memories from last year were in the last weeks of March, throughout the beginning of May. So don’t despair, enjoy some shots from a really bad winter and think snow!

Reveling In Secrets

We Invite you to join us on a unique human powered, backcountry adventure filmed in Vermont and New Hampshire. Filmed during one of the least snowy winters ever here in the Northeastern US, our crew had to work harder than ever to find the best snow in the worst of conditions. We take you to some incredible powder stashes, icy chutes, tight trees, even some jibs atop the highest terrain in Vermont. Featuring a soundtrack of musicians and bands from all over in New England.

New Project In The Works

All of us here at GMR Films are pleased to announce that we are working on yet another Northeast powder based film! We will be taking you along with us as we continue exploration for shred in the Green Mountains, White Mountains, and many more Northeastern locations! We began this new project with a very Pow filled December, snagging a variety of sweet shots, from the sides of roads to some extremely steep back country terrain.

Mother nature may have hit hard throughout January, but for those of us here believe it couldn’t have been better timing for a nearly month long thaw. Injuries, and some heavy work loads at day jobs have prevented us from venturing out to continue filming as much as we would have liked to. As time has passed it has allowed for outside work to be completed, healing of injuries, and for our crew to gain some direction on our next film. That said we are planning for our third feature film to release in the fall of 2014, allowing us one more winter’s worth of pow packed goods!

Here is an outtake shot from our next project!

Did you know the GMR crew has been collecting shots, and chopping up clips from resort to backcountry to urban since 1998, yet never officially released more than a handful of shots to the public until the winter of 2009! Over the past month we have dusted off some older shots from the archives to finally bring to you. Here is a snippet of our 2008 project Weathering The Storm (filmed with a $300 budget!) featuring some pow shots of Alex Miller. You can expect to see more old shots brought off the shelf in the coming months, to help ward off those summertime blues!

Now, go put on them gloves and get ready to Rip The Greens!

Reveling In Secrets – Movie Premiere!

All of us here at GMR Films are happy to celebrate the release of our latest film, Reveling In Secrets. We welcome you to join us Saturday, December 8 at The Three Mountain Lodge in Jeffersonville, Vermont for the premiere showing. The bar opens at 2:00pm and will be serving $1.00 PBR pints, and doing pub fare pecials. The movie will start at approximately 4:30pm.

This past winter was one of the least snowy many of us can remember here in the Northeast. There were weeks that passed by with little to no snowfall, but occasional showers. Many people gave up hope for winter as conditions in the mountains were less than ideal and sometimes downright scary, with an abundance of ice, exposed rocks, and in some locations istability. We did not give up hope. We kept on searching for the elusive powder, and found exactly what we were looking for.

Come celebrate one of the worst winters ever and help ring in a much colder and snowier winter this year! We hope to see you there!
